Sluts and Nuts

Sandra Fluke is a slut. A 30-year old woman who is studying law at one of the nation’s premier law schools should not ask blue-collar hard-working people to pay for birth control products that would allow her uncontrolled libido to screw the American taxpayers and premium payers. She is a slut because she is willing to exchange her dignity, her self-respect and her reasoning ability for 15 minutes of fame and unrestricted sexual activity. That represents a barter…a type of exchange wherein each party supposedly receives something of value to offset the loss of the assumed value of the object being traded. Just as “will screw for food” would be considered prostitution in most cities (generally controlled by progressive Democrats), as well as “will trade privacy, dignity and principles for sex.” She sold her soul for a big-government looter’s agenda. Rush Limbaugh was correct. When one expects “someone” to pay for one’s nymphomania, one is being paid to have unlimited sexual activity. With generic birth control pills selling for $9.00 per month at Wal-Mart, that leaves approximately $892.00 per year for condoms and other additional “protections” based on Ms. Fluke’s $1000.00 per year estimated cost for her or others’ profligacy.

Rush Limbaugh and his little butt-kissing buddies, Hannity and Levin, are also sluts. While Limbaugh attempts to use the absurd to illustrate the absurdity of Ms. Fluke’s demand, he fails to recognize the inconsistencies of his own positions. He and his cohorts claim the mantle of constitutionalism, but nevertheless do not hold Congress and the Administration accountable for some of their more egregious constitutional abuses….because those unconstitutional acts coincide with the subjective world-views of Limbaugh, Hannity and Levin. Whores and sluts sell their bodies either for pleasure or because of hard-core commercial purposes. Limbaugh and his little band of merry men sell out their constitutional principles either for their own self-serving purposes or to curry favor with their audiences and their supreme government masters. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution of the United States clearly identifies that Congress has the authority (and the obligation after careful and thoughtful consideration) to declare war. Yet, since December 8th, 1941 Congress has NOT declared war even though we have been engaged in three decade-long conflicts plus the Korean “police action” in the interim. Why has the triumvirate of conservative talk radio cavalierly ignored this constitutional proviso? Perhaps….it doesn’t fit into their preferences for the unbridled exercise of government power, so they ignore the requirement/mandate. They are sluts and whores because despite their professed love for the Founders, the Framers and our constitutional republic, they willingly sell their souls, their integrity and their principles to unconstitutional activity. Progressives and conservatives, liberals and moderates have all chosen to selectively support the Constitution. All of…..or rather too many of them view the Constitution of the United States as a buffet of privilege for themselves and of limitations for their opponents. No wonder we are in the pit we are in when the supporters of our primary document distort it beyond recognition.

Most of the mass media are sluts. I know….that’s redundant. Screwing the nation, the regular folks and constitutionalists is the number one activity for most media types. It is not too difficult to assume that the excessive carnal efforts by the media have resulted in debilitating STDs. Their diminished mental capacities would suggest that the spirochete bacterium of syphilis had occupied and destroyed their cognitive abilities. Their observations and reporting are primarily agenda-driven, and for the most part their agendas do NOT coincide with most citizens or with the Constitution. The members of the media can be excused at some level for their shortcomings because of their limited mental acuity. Reading and understanding the Constitution probably requires an eighth grade proficiency which is far beyond the capacity of many who chose to follow journalistic endeavors.

Obviously, the career politicians who unceasingly abuse our rights and ignore our Constitution are the “Sultans of Slut-dom.” They take oaths of office following their elections and proceed to systematically violate them at every turn. Not only are many of our political class… whores, they are cheap whores. They routinely sell out for campaign funds from their favored interest group or for ground troops for their re-election campaigns. They consistently pass new legislation to “clean up” the process but simultaneously open new loopholes and crevices for circumventing the law. They sell out and roll over at the mere glimpse of a dollar or a favor. Their favorite pastimes are screwing the constituency, screwing the nation and violating their sacred trusts. They are whores, sluts and hookers of the highest order. They are committed to their assumed profession and ignorant of their public obligation.

The title of this column is “Sluts and Nuts.” This is a term that most large-scale political campaigns know. There is an element of society that “hangs around” the campaign seeking opportunities for engaging the candidate or upper staff in questionable activity. Some politicians appreciate their presence but fear their disclosures. Others tremble when the sluts and nuts are nearby, but they are a common element of our political life. In light of my previous ranting about the “sluts” in our political structure, allow me to posit that we, the voters and citizens, are the nuts. We are nuts because we allow the sluts to do what they do to us, our Constitution and our republic.

Note to Ms. Fluke: If you’re playing the game and seek the fame, don’t complain about the name.

Fearing Nothing

Many of our citizens in these United States of America fear nothing. It’s not because they are especially courageous or totally unaware. No, it’s because many now fear our government, and government, by extended definition, is nothing. Despite the thousands of granite buildings with marble floors and the legions of munchkin-like bureaucrats scurrying through the halls, the government is nothing more than an idea….a concept….a construct….a fabrication created from the minds of men. It is an artifice that over time will devolve into an historical artifact.

“That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed,-
From the Declaration of Independence, July, 1776 (emphasis added).

There are some people who believe that government should be the dominate initiator and factor in the lives of the people. Oddly many of these very people who are willing to submit to an artificial construct like government are critical of granting personhood to corporations. Corporations mirror government in the sense that they are created from whole cloth….from nothing into something. The role of stockholders very closely resembles that of citizens in a state. The corporation and the government are entities that exist only in the abstract. Their reality is subject to what they represent. No land, no people equals no government. No product, no stockholders and no commerce yield a shell corporation…an existence in name only with no productive function. It seems reasonable to me that if we were to view government with the same jaundiced eye that we behold corporations, our fear of government’s potential for harm would be minimized. True, a government often achieves a “life” of its own and readily employs force to assure compliance with its dictates, but the ultimate consideration should be that government does not, cannot exist on its own without the willing compliance of the people. If the people are truly aware of the proper dynamics and status in the servant-master relationship, government would instantly become toothless and ineffectual. True, the nature of government, openly tyrannical or otherwise, is to resort to force and violence to maintain its stature. A public that is totally aware of the “nothingness” of government…that NO government can exist without either the endorsement or willful obedience of the people, will force the government either to conform to their wishes or be dissolved or overthrown.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
                                                                                    Thomas Jefferson

Why should we fear “nothing”… an entity that cannot exist but with our approval? Of course, the realistic fear of the government’s use of force and perhaps violence can cause the bravest among us to hesitate … to falter. Consider that one, two or three weak men can subdue a strong person. Doesn’t it follow that an irate and committed populace could subdue the most oppressive state if all, or most, were united to achieve that outcome? What the people lack in power and resources could be overcome with numbers and passion. The primary obstacle for restoring our nation is one of attitude. Too many of us are self-delusional. We cannot accept that our government has grown beyond its purpose and has morphed into a malevolent malignancy. Like any other type of cancer it will continue to grow, to metastasize unless it stopped and excised. Its deadly force growths more lethal with each passing day, and the treatment can be much more successful in the early stages of the disease. Just like cancer affects the body, an aggressive government destroys its host….gnawing and consuming until the body politic collapses from exhaustion. We must never lose sight of the reality that we own our bodies and have the sacred responsibility to repel corrosive invaders. When there is no host or body, cancer loses its strength and its power. If the people of the nation refuse to countenance a malicious and vicious over-reaching government, its days will be numbered.

“O Lord, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant; you have freed me from my chains.”
                                                                                 Psalm 116:16(NIV)

For those of us who profess to be Believers, there are no excuses, no alibis, and no rationalizations for our reluctance to battle a government that smothers our freedom. The Creator gave us Liberty, and as with any other gift from Him, we must express our gratitude through obedience. He did not grant us freedom so that we could squander it through inaction and cowardice. As has been noted earlier, government is not tangible. It exists only through the assent of the governed. Some might protest that despots have maintained power throughout human history despite lacking popular support. I would counter that we have numerous instances of people overthrowing their oppressive governments when their anger overrides their caution or fear. How much easier it would be for a nation that still enjoys some remnant of freedom to rise up and dismantle a growing repressive state.

The state (government) should neither be honored nor feared. It must be controlled. It is the obligation of the people to assume and exercise that control. It is our moral duty. We must preserve something and never fear “nothing.”

Littlestuff Weekender-8-7-2011

Whew! Some traumatic week that we have been through. The Senate and the House with Presidential agreement accepts a deal (probably pre-arranged) that creates a “super legislature of 12 members to propose “up or down” spending cuts or tax increases. This mini-Politburo allows Congress to do what it does best: shift blame and duck responsibility. The whole debt-ceiling fiasco has demonstrated that most of the old timers and many of the “Tea Party” House members lack courage and integrity.  There were, however, a few who held firm and may have had an incremental influence on the outcome. Their intransigence may have forced the leadership to implement the super legislative ruse rather than boldly vote to raise the debt ceiling and taxes.

Because the government did not seriously or honestly address the excessive spending and the increasing debt, Standard and Poor’s lowered the U.S. debt quality rating from AAA to AA. Watch carefully in the next few weeks because interest rates may begin to creep upward since the FED has been artificially forcing them lower. China issued a statement that condemned our government and its wasteful practices. It’s never a good sign when the communists think you are consuming too much of your nation’s GDP.

We had a wonderful week at the Wood County Fair. Bowling Green City Council write-in candidate, Nathan Eberly…E-B-E-R-L-Y, the chair of the Libertarian Party of Wood County did a great job of organizing the tent, and LPWC members stepped up to host it. Met a lot of radio listeners and Littlestuff readers during our scheduled times. It was comforting to observe that my readers and listeners aren’t too crazy….though we may be driving them that way.

It was a pleasure for me to work at the Ron Paul booth at the Ohio State Fair on Thursday. What a difference a year makes. The response this year was dramatically better than last year as more and more people (following the debt ceiling fiasco) realize that Dr. Paul is NOT the wacky old uncle. They understand that he has been right since before “right” was cool. The younger folks who are politically astute are attracted to his candidacy, but I was impressed by how many 60-somethings were driven to support him because of the congressional ineptitude that was so obvious in recent weeks.

Another reminder for you about our radio program that airs every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on 1370 WSPD.  www.wspd.com   ---we are streamed---.  We view all things local, regional, statewide, national and global through the prism of liberty. We also have podcasts of each program that are usually posted within 24-48 hours of the live broadcast. The name of the show is “Eye on Toledo.”

Enjoyed my Mother’s family reunion Saturday. We are blessed that Mother and her seven siblings are still with us, and six of the eight spouses are living. The food was plentiful and tasty, and it was great to see some of my cousins.

Yesterday’s (Friday’s) column was about “Crisis Management,” and we added an addendum to our FaceBook page: Remember that politicians are middle managers for the community, state or nation. They are hirelings…we hire them to oversee the day to day functions of government. We the People are the CEO’s, the COO’s and the CFO’s of this great American enterprise. We have a fiduciary responsibility to fire the middle managers if they squander our resources and violate our policies (the Constitution). If the politicians consistently govern against our will and we fail to replace them, we are the ones at fault. It requires that we the people undergo a dramatic attitudinal change from governed beneficiary to responsible stakeholder. Our efforts to restore the nation will be futile until the citizenry understands that ownership of the nation means that WE assume responsibility for its performance.

Monday’s column will address “baseline budgeting.” It is the primary fiscal impetus behind our precarious financial situation. Wednesday we will examine the political concept of “voting from cover” wherein your/our elected servants can appear to vote as we wish but are ready, willing and able to underwrite big government if their votes are “needed.” Sham and scam artists are not representing the people who pay, but they do protect those who receive.
